NOW, It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas

Last night I was feeling somewhat depressed (mainly due to my 3 week illness streak with no confirming test results) and I commented that this holiday season was "lame". I was so on top of all my Christmas shopping (in NOV.), Christmas decor, etc. However, once the pain streak hit I have yet to do anything. No Christmas cookies (even though the cookie cutters and ready and sugar cookie dough has been in the fridge for a while now), no re-reading of the gospels birth of baby Jesus, no lights were hung, no Christmas classics played, and it was bumming me out. I missed my mom's house with the fireplace blazing, 9 ft. tree brightly lit, cider in hand, with the pungent smell of goodies lingering. My sweet husband played me some Christmas tunes on the guitar, but I ultimately went to bed not feeling the true joy of the holiday spirit.

Then after work I came home to THIS:

Lights on the balcony

Colorful lights wrapped around our tree

Thanks so much my sweet husband, you brightened my day!

Even though I still feel ill and have some presents to finish, I am experiencing the true Spirit of Christmas...

For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.

NEW NEIGHBOR

I am OH so excited that one of my good friends Lindsay will be moving into our apt complex very soon! I'll finally have a friend close by (one building apart to be exact) for working out, yoga, doing crafts, watching movies, late night chats while my hubby is out, sleep overs, watering each other's plants when we are out of town, dinner dates, etc.....

Can't wait Linz!!!

I caved

So... I've been quite the blog stalker for some time now. I've even been out with Matt and said, "Oh I know that person", after realizing I don't know them at all, I've just stumbled across their blog from a friend's link and now have become an avid reader (one of those 7 degrees of separation things, which is probably amplified when you take the World Wide Web into account). My sweet husband has encouraged me to approach them and introduce myself, though I'll be honest I'm deeply embarrassed and afraid they might call the cops. But, I guess if you have a blog accessible to the public one should expect the crazies!

With my preface/confession out of the way, I've decided to jump on the bandwagon. I doubt anyone will read, but I love tidbits I receive from reading stranger's (although I consider them friends) blogs. And it seems like a great window for my ideas, thoughts and steps in life. Plus, I think my husband would appreciate a way for me to vent that doesn't always involve him...
